Hexion Specialty Chemicals Increases Price for Unsaturated Polyester and Vinyl Ester Resins

Columbus, Ohio, July 7, 2006 - The Composite Polymers business of Hexion Specialty Chemicals today announced a price increase of $0.05 per pound for all unsaturated polyester and vinyl ester resins. The increase is effective for all products shipped on or after July 31, 2006.

Higher oil prices have impacted all intermediate chemical building blocks. Energy costs to operate our facilities and freight costs to deliver the products have also increased.

Hexion's Composite Polymers business produces a broad range of unsaturated polyester resins and vinyl ester resins for use in reinforced composites and cast polymer products. These customized resins are formulated for use in a variety of markets including transportation, construction, infrastructure, marine and consumer goods.
